Welcome back, Geeky Gluttons, to another episode of Munchies & Minis!
For those just joining us, Munchies & Minis is a live Twitch cooking show where I make a tabletop or Dungeons & Dragons-inspired snack and then paint a miniature. To kick the first season off, I decided to start @RaineRysa‘s #52WeeksofDnD fanart challenge. Last week we made some Stuffed Treasure Chest McGuffin Muffins for the challenge word “Quest.” This week’s challenge word is “Chaotic.”
I know I could just throw a mess of somethings on a plate and call it chaotic. But that seemed dismissive to chaotically-aligned characters. The chaotic alignment, whether good, bad, or neutral, flouts tradition and rules for the sake of the individual’s desire, conscience, or personal freedom. That’s why I decided to take a short break from Dungeons & Dragons on this post to celebrate its card game parody: Munchkin.
Recently I found the culinary edition of the game, Munchkin: Crazy Cooks. Just like the original game you can kick down the door as an adventurer of multiple races and classes fighting ridiculous monsters. Except in this edition of the game, you might find yourself as a dwarven french chef wielding a turkey baster against a gluten-free Cereal Killer.
Searching through various munchy monsters like Critter Fritters, the Guaca-Mole, and Germ & Chocolate Cake, I finally found the perfect dish to replicate: The Sweets & Beets Pizza. Think about it. It breaks so many traditions such as pizza for dessert, candy on cheese, and beets with cheese. It kind of works, though. If anything, I’d say this dish is the epitome of the chaotic alignment.
So for this recipe, I made a dessert pizza featuring chocolate, cheese, cherries, and bacon all baked up on a cinnamon sugar crust. The combination makes sense, even if the application does not. And it’s chaotic delicious no matter where your moral compass falls on the spectrum.

I hope that this episode inspired you to start a culinary campaign of your own. Next week I’ll be tackling the #52WeeksOfDnD challenge word “Dexterity” with a heavy-knifework recipe called “Succotash Stuffed Trout.”
